Director of Education & Training

 

About the position:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Education & Training will lead the design, development, execution and deployment of eyelash extension curriculum, materials and resources for omni-channel education and training programs, including online & web-hosted education, and hands-on training worldwide.

Xtreme Lashes is the industry pioneer in eyelash extension products, technique and education. The Director of Education & Training is responsible for maintaining our leading edge in education & training by working cross-functionally with all departments at Xtreme Lashes including Product Development (PD), Research and Development (R&D), Marketing, Creative & Public Relations (PR), Sales & Customer Service, Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) to develop and execute new application procedures & curriculum.

The Director of Education & Training provides direction, leadership, management and support to the educational content development staff and worldwide field trainers, and works cross-functionally with other departments to design and deliver best in class education to health and beauty professionals globally who want to start or evolve a rewarding and profitable career in eyelash extensions.

A day in the life of the Director of Education & Training…

  • Maintain Xtreme Lashes’ leading edge in the training of eyelash extension application by leading the design, development, execution and deployment of curriculum and learning experiences for eyelash extension education & training programs, and executing timely releases of training & education on new products, techniques and services
  • Oversee the creation of multimedia-formatted education and training materials and resources including presentations, webinars, videos and documents for in-class, hands-on training courses, and e-Learning experiences
  • Hire, train, manage, develop, coach, and discharge the education department staff and trainers as needed to maintain a highly motivated, productive, and inspiring team to build new education and training programs
  • Under the direction of Jo Mousselli, collaborate with lash stylists, cosmetic chemists, engineers & marketers to develop new products and techniques for stylists in the field
  • In collaboration with Research & Development (R&D), Product Development (PD), Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance, and Troubleshooting, design and deliver product testing and quality control procedures to be applied throughout the product development lifecycle: conception, development, launch and maintenance
  • Lead the development and deployment of our LMS for adult learning in both eyelash extension application and employee-specific training & engagement
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service and Marketing to schedule 500+ annual Training Programs nationwide, ensuring enrollment to capacity and seamless operations & logistics
  • Regularly monitor and implement regulatory standards in eyelash extensions, and participate with boards in drafting pertinent laws when applicable
  • Develop or update and implement departmental processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Education and Troubleshooting departments
  • Evolve and implement the Trainer Roadmap to Success
  • Perform consumer panel testing, market research and competitive analysis, and use best practices in adult learning/education to inform curriculum development and learning experiences
  • Develop and update department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and present to the executive team on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Secure tools & resources and manage the department budget
  • Use critical thinking & problem-solving skills to judge situations, considering business, personnel, financial, legal, and time implications, and take appropriate actions
  • Serve as an Xtreme Lashes brand ambassador and personal ambassador for the CEO to our nationwide field Trainers

What you bring to the table…

  • Science, engineering, health, vision, dental or medical background required
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience
  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience involving collaboration with other departments
  • Experience in creating and delivering multimedia education to adults
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects & competing priorities simultaneously
  • Exemplary organizational skills to be applied to self and others
  • Proficiency in LMS, project management, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Master communicator via written, verbal and presentation channels
  • Exemplary leadership and problem-solving skills in an autonomous capacity
  • Spirit of entrepreneurship requiring high-energy, proactivity, flexibility and collaboration
  • Risk management and crisis management experience preferred
  • Proficiency in data analysis & business analysis preferred
  • Previous experience as an educator, education manager, teacher, professor, instructor, trainer, or nurse beneficial
  • Experience in consumer package goods (CPG), beauty, health, science, medical, product development (PD), personal care, program management, instructor led training (ILT), computer-based training (CBT), virtual instructor led training (VILT) preferred
  • Minimal travel may be required (>5%)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other departments in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
